Readington, N.J. – Most golfers only dream of making two hole-in-ones. Fewer still win prizes. And then there’s Mike Petrozelli.
Petrozelli not only aced himself a brand new BMW 320i last year at a VIP golf tournament in Hunterdon County, he followed it up this year by winning a $10,000 cash prize, paid for by Hole In One International.
This June, during the Bob Stefano Memorial Knights of Columbus 9193 Golf Tournament, Petrozelli aced the 136-yard 12 hole with a Ping 5-iron at Ron Jaworski’s Valleybrook Country Club, winning himself $10,000, courtesy of the Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer and the rest of the Council, who sponsored the giant hole in one prize.
According to Petrozelli ,who jokes that he may be ‘banned’ from golfing after winning both a car and the big bucks, he’s just an average golfer who typically shoots in the high 80s or low 90s, “I’m good at hitting the greens.”
He’s also got some pretty amazing luck. Not only was this his fourth hole in one, “I hit the lottery for $10,000 seven or eight years ago,” explained Petrozelli.
