Golf Game Ideas: Choose Your Club – Guaranteed Amusement For Everyone!
Are you a planning an upcoming golf tournament? Are you looking for golf game ideas for your players? Then be sure to check out this particular golf game idea from Hole In One International: “Choose Your Club!” Feel free to hold this game even if you just plan on hitting the links with some buddies this weekend. Remember: it’s all about the ‘fun’ factor!
Here’s how it works: During the tournament, each end every player has to choose a club for the current shot that’s at play. The players must choose from one of many different clubs. Write the names of all of the clubs and stick them into a hat, bowl, or otherwise for a raffle. Players each draw a specific ‘club’ which they must use to make their shot. Sit back and watch all of the laughs when a player draws ‘putter’ when they’re a good 100 yards away from the hole. There are multiple possibilities and it’s guaranteed to be a lot of fun for your players.
Granted, you probably won’t want to utilize this game on a hole where hole in one insurance is being offered (if applicable), nor do you want to make this game an all-day long affair due to time restraints: it’s best to choose a particular time during the outing to have them participate in “Choose Your Club.” We personally recommend holding the game sometime during the 18th hole — that way your players have already reached home stretch by the time the fun begins… and they’re free to head back to the clubhouse after their round of golf has ended and laugh about the antics of their fellow golfers over a meal and/or drink.
We personally love this golf tournament game idea and hope you will too! Need more golf game ideas? Feel free to email us. And definitely be sure to let us know if you end up utilizing “Choose Your Club” and tell us how it went! We’d love to share all of the funny stories on Hole In One International’s Facebook page.
Golf Tournament Players: Is There a Minimum Requirement?
Hole In One International is here today to answer one of the most frequently asked questions that we receive: Is there a minimum number of golf tournament players/participants that we must have in order to secure hole in one insurance?
In short, the answer is ‘no.’ All we require is that you let us know in advance that you’ll be having a small tournament format prior to securing your hole in one coverage so we can document it. We’ve happily insured many small golf tournaments — and, in fact, it actually plays into your favor! That’s because the fewer players you have in your golf tournament, the higher the prize value you’re able to insure without your premium increasing! Keep in mind that the yardage also factors into that equation as well (the higher the yardage, the lower the cost).
On the flip side, if you have more than a full field of 144 players, you must notify us prior to us binding your coverage whether your golf tournament will be a Tee Time or Shotgun Start.
So there you have it! No, there is no minimum (or maximum) golf tournament player requirement; however, we do ask that you let us know that it’s a small tournament format (if there are not many players in the outing) or if it’s a Tee Time or Shotgun Start (if there are over 144 players in your outing). Also, make sure to let us know if any professional golfers will be playing in your event…
Happy golfing and good luck! Have any further questions? Give us a call at 800-827-2249… or email us!
Golf Contests: Creative Ways To Qualify Players & Fundraise
Insuring a golf contest at your upcoming golf outing that requires you to narrow down your players in some fashion? Whether it’s a Million Dollar Shootout, chipping contest or other insured contest, here are a few ideas from Hole In One International on how to pre-qualify your player(s) to determine who gets to participate in your golf contests, as well as how to increase fundraising dollars, come the day of your golf tournament!
1.) The Raffle
A raffle is the most common way to pre-select participants for your golf contests. Players simply pay a fee, determined by the golf tournament committee ahead of time, to have their name entered into a drawing should they want the opportunity to participate in a golf contest. Place the name of everyone who pays up into a hat, box, bucket, barrel, you name it! Then, simply draw a name at random to see who the lucky qualifier/golf contest participant will be! Want to collect valuable marketing information? When creating your raffle tickets, have a space for each player’s information — email, phone number, address, etc.
2.) Purchasing Mulligans
A mulligan is an automatic “do-over” on a shot, meaning the player can play it again if it was a particularly bad shot. Charge your players $x per mulligan during your golf outing — just make sure they’re aware that they cannot use any on the designated target hole, if a hole-in-one contest is being insured. Whoever ends up purchasing the most mulligans will come back at the end of the outing for a chance to participate in your golf contests! It’s that simple!
3.) Auction
Holding an auction as part of your golf outing? Whether it’s a live charity auction or silent auction, people are always trying to gain the upper-hand… especially when it’s revolving around the game of golf! There’s a good chance that the bids during an auction will go very high, generating some great fundraising bucks! Have the highest bidder come back at the end of the auction to participate in your golf contest for the chance to win big!
Are the gears turning yet? Can you think of any other great ways to qualify players and fundraise when it comes to insuring golf contests? Feel free to share them with us! Or, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 800-827-2249 or email us!
